  Cappy, did you notice that this boob was speechless until he was fed something that sounded "theocratic"? Such as "you are concerned with the congregation". It flipped a switch and he spoke "Theospeak" ..."we are shepherds of the congregation" as if saying it gave validation to his actions however stupid they may be. Remember they can say nonsense and the rank and file must accept it till Jehoover fixes it later if it sounds stupid. But the nasty worldly man called him out on his bullshit. Go RC!

  If Disfellowshipping pedophiles protects the congregation, what does it do for "Those Outside" they are expelled to?

  we all know the wt basis for disfellowshipping, (1 corinthians 5:9-13) 9 12 for what do i have to do with judging those outside?

  do you not judge those inside, 13 while god judges those outside?

  remove the wicked [man] from among yourselves.. if removing "the man" is a protection for the congregation and no police are called, what does it say about the witnesses view of the world?

  If removing "the man" is a protection for the congregation and no police are called, what does it say about the Witnesses view of the world? They have no compunction about sending predators out in the world without warning them. The protection of the flock is done by merely banishing them with an option to return, but they can rape in the meantime? Does this show contempt of the Witnesses towards their neighbor?   the governing body have painted themselves in a corner, so to speak.

  if they acknowledge their response to abuse claims was insensitive, unloving and inadequate they are denying the belief that "god's way" is best and risk losing abuse cases.

  if they stick with it and say it is "god's way according to the bible" they will be seen as cult leaders and risk losing abuse cases.

  Johnamos, the flock is trained to be subservient to the elders and the edicts of the Governing Body. Many parents who have turned in molesters leave the religion because they could see through it. But many more kneel before "Christ's Brothers" and do not want to rock the boat. So they burn their children to Moloch er, Jehovah, by staying silent believing that they should wait on him! So I would agree with you if they were not abuse victims themselves. Simple minds easily controlled.

  remember there was a talk about not listening to "false stories" about sexual abuse from apostates on jw's fantasy station?

  did the governing body put it out there as preemptive damage control because they knew this was coming?

  they must have had subpoenas giving them a heads up.

Did the Governing Body put it out there as preemptive damage control because they knew this was coming? They must have had subpoenas giving them a heads up. Will that ring true with JW's and will they dismiss this scandal because of that talk? I think the die-hard believers will buy into it. On the whole, if there have been over 1000 cases there will be Witnesses who know "someone" who was affected and can now talk about it as a secular matter. This will break some walls down. How about you? Remember the words of Brother Lett, "Nobody protects children like Jehovah's Organization". Thank God nobody else follows their example! Now what?

  I agree that the first elder was in pain as he wanted to say so badly that the way the whole thing was handled was farce and the Society is full of crap. But he instead swallows his vomit and keeps the party line because his ass is on the line. So freaking obvious. So glad i am out!
